OUR VISION

To see lives transformed, families restored, and our community impacted by knowing Christ through his word!

Seeing Lives Transformed

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to transform lives. By transform, we mean fundamental and irreversible change. We make this statement, because we have experienced it ourselves, and know if God can change our lives, He can change anybody’s! (1 Tim. 1:15-16).  Scripture says, when we receive Christ as Saviour by faith, “all things are made new.” (2 Cor. 5:17)  Jesus taught, “Ye must be born-again.” (John 3:7)

Many people attempt time after time to “amend their ways,” only to remain the same.  That’s like seeking to eradicate weeds, without pulling the roots! Attempts of change are of little value, if they don’t touch the core problem, which for us is our hearts. Scripture is pretty blunt, we need a new hearts!

Ezekiel 36:26-27
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Christ fulfilled this promise (Acts 2) and gives all believers new hearts when they come to Him for salvation. We at Grace Baptist Church are not “super-Christians,” but each day we rejoice that Christ has changed our hearts and every day continues to change them (Phil. 1:6). He lives through every believer strengthening them, helping them, teaching them to live righteously, graciously, selflessly, and passionately for His glory. We would love for all to also experience God’s love, mercy, and grace found in knowing Christ as Saviour.

Seeing Families Restored

Jesus loved kids and he loves family. (Luke 18:16) Malachi prophesied that Christ’s messenger’s work would, “turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers…” (Mal. 4:6) Sincere Christianity shines brightest in the home, and it is our belief that sincere Christianity has the power to transform not just lives, but families. Time after time both in Scripture and in our experience, it is family that reaches family. We can’t coerce even a family member into receiving Jesus Christ as their Saviour. However, more than hearing about Christ, the proximity of family allows the opportunity to truly witness the transformation Christ alone can bring. Because Christ placed so great an emphasis on family and children, we too have a passion for seeing children and teens helped and families restored for God’s glory.

Seeing our community impacted

The early New Testament church was accused by their opponents to have, “turned the world upside down…” (Acts 17:6) It seems laughable that such a motley crew as the 12 disciples could have made so profound an impact, yet none deny they did make an impact! Not everybody considered it a positive change – those who made massive profits from sin hated and opposed the change. (Acts 19:23-41) However, multitudes of ordinary people were delivered and forever changed, by hearing that God loved them, died to save them, and forgives freely those who will repent and trust in Jesus Christ as Saviour. Those who received God’s love, were called to love both their brethren and their enemies. In loving they were called to both “speak the truth in love…” (Eph. 4:15) and to love in action. (1 Jn. 3:18)  We pray our words would be saturated with truth and soaked in love, and our actions might reveal the sincerity of our love, so that our community might truly know God’s love and salvation through His inspired Word.
